Meeting Ponziani
Yesterday I played memorial blitz tournament “Remembering Avdo Zulic” in
Tojsici near Tuzla, time control was 7 minutes plus 3 seconds. It was 8th
round of the tournament, playing on the second board, meeting…
Now looking the game with the engine, it seems my opponent played pretty well!
What can be conlusion? I think being principled and playing your opening lines
is very important, expecially in the blitz tournament and if our goal is good
result(unless we have some Rapid and Blitz repertoire). Of course, being
principled is not enough, we also should know the lines! Risking to be
suprised in the opening, in this low time formats can be deadly, because we do
not have time to understand what is happening. Being suprised in classical
time format is also uncomfortable, but still while investing some time we can
hope that we will understand something. 🙂 All comments are welcomed!
